The Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP) Launches The B-PEP “CIRCLE OF SUPPORT” Campaign to Strengthen Nonpartisan Civic Engagement Ahead of the November 3, 2026 Election

PITTSBURGH, PA - On Juneteenth, the Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP) will launch its Circle of Support Campaign, a new fundraising initiative developed in partnership with the B-PEP Planning Council to strengthen and sustain the organization's nonpartisan voter engagement, voter education, election protection, youth civic engagement, and community empowerment efforts. For more than 41 years, B-PEP has served as a trusted voice for civic participation, voter engagement, and community empowerment throughout Allegheny County and beyond. Our mission: “African Americans VOTE in EACH and EVERY Election” has begun to be part of the political culture of Black Pittsburgh! At a time when many organizations serving historically underrepresented communities are facing increasing challenges in securing funding for civic engagement and community empowerment efforts, grassroots support has never been more important.

"The CIRCLE OF SUPPORT” Campaign provides an opportunity for individuals, families, faith communities, businesses, and community partners to invest in strengthening democracy through nonpartisan civic engagement," said Tim Stevens, Founder and CEO of B-PEP.

"The Circle of Support Campaign will help ensure that B-PEP can continue serving our communities through trusted, nonpartisan civic engagement and voter empowerment efforts," said Lorraine Cross, Chair of the Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP) Planning Council.

Funds raised through the campaign will support voter registration, voter education, election protection, youth civic engagement, community outreach, leadership development, and public education initiatives.
